Yvan
Bourdeau was appointed Vice-Chair, BMO Capital Markets on March 5, 2008. In
this position, he has responsibility for account coverage, while continuing
to focus on the execution of our China/international objectives.
Mr. Bourdeau's career at BMO Financial Group has spanned more than 30 years
in a wide variety of roles, including various positions in the Far East as
well as Treasurer and Head of Portfolio Risk Management. He was appointed
President and Chief Operating Officer, BMO Nesbitt Burns in May 1999. Most
recently,
he was CEO and Head of Investment Banking Group, BMO Capital Markets.
Mr. Bourdeau began his career with BMO as a representative in Tokyo in 1973.
He was Managing Director, Bank of Montreal Asia Ltd., Singapore, in 1978;
Vice-President and Manager, Seoul Branch, South Korea, in 1980; and Senior
Vice-President
and Manager, Tokyo Branch, Japan, in 1986. Mr. Bourdeau was appointed Senior
Vice-President and Deputy Treasurer, Bank of Montreal, in 1988; Executive
Vice-President and Treasurer, in 1991; and Executive Vice-President and
Head of Global Treasury
Group in 1996. In 1998, he was named Executive Vice-President, Treasurer
and Head of Portfolio and Risk Management Group.
Born
in Montreal , Mr. Bourdeau received his B.A. from Collège Saint-Ignace
in Montreal in 1968, his Bachelor of Business Administration from l'École
des Hautes Etudes Commerciales at the University of Montreal in 1971
and his MBA from the University of British Columbia in 1972.
Mr. Bourdeau is a Board member of BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., BMO Nesbitt
Burns Corporation Limited, BMO Capital Markets Corp. and Harris Financial
Corp.
He also sits on the Boards of the Institute for Research on Public Policy
and
C.D. Howe Institute.
