As Vice-Chairman of BMO
Nesbitt Burns, Dean Manjuris heads the full-service investing line of business,
which manages $100 billion in client assets through
a sales force of 1,300 investment advisors across Canada.
Mr. Manjuris joined Burns
Fry Ltd. in 1983 as an Investment Advisor in Toronto. In 1985, he became
Manager of the Yonge and St. Clair Branch. He then transferred
to downtown Toronto to manage one of the firm's larger branches in 1986.
In 1991, Mr. Manjuris was
appointed National Sales Manager, Senior Vice-President and Director of BMO
Nesbitt
Burns, Private Client Division, a key line of business
for BMO Financial Group’s wealth management strategy. During his tenure
from 1991 to 1994, the Burns Fry sales force doubled. In 1999, Mr. Manjuris
was appointed President and Managing Director of the Private Client Division.
In 2003, Mr. Manjuris was
appointed Vice-Chairman. Under his leadership, the firm has widened its product
and
service offering to clients and launched industry-leading
online initiatives. The firm has also grown from a business that handles clients’ investments
to an organization that manages Canadians’ wealth during all life cycles.
Mr. Manjuris is a member
of both the Performance Committee and Management Committee of BMO Financial
Group. He is a director
of BMO Nesbitt Burns Corporation Limited, BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc, BMO Nesbitt
Burns
Ltd Audit and Board Committees and is also on the
board of the Canadian Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. He is very involved
in his community and actively supports children’s charities through his
role as trustee of the Baystock Foundation. Mr. Manjuris has been a board member
of BMO Nesbitt Burns Financial Services Inc. and was on the Board of Directors
for the Investment Dealers Association of Canada.
Mr. Manjuris holds a bachelor
of arts in economics and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.
