As Executive Vice-President,
Technology Development & Enterprise Infrastructure,
Ms. Metrakos is accountable for technology development and all associated infrastructure
at BMO.
Technology Development
brings together all aspects of systems development to create solutions that
meet
our customers’ needs, both now and in the
future. Technology Development partners with the lines of business at BMO
to develop IT solutions that maximize the value of our technology investment
across
the
enterprise,
while enabling our customer-facing personnel to provide increasingly superior
service.
The Enterprise Infrastructure group unifies all networks and systems technology
delivering excellence in day-to-day operations. This includes ensuring 24-hour
availability to online, telephone and ABM financial services for our customers.
Information Security, housed within Enterprise Infrastructure, provides expert
direction, planning and consultation on information security best practices
and integrated processes.
Ms. Metrakos sits on several
BMO committees, including Technology & Operations’ Executive
Management Committee, the Operational Risk Committee, the Management Committee
and the Leadership Committee.
Since joining BMO in 1979,
Ms. Metrakos has held a wide variety of technology-related positions in systems
development, computer operations and telecommunications,
and has been involved in many key programs supporting the retail and commercial
bank. Ms. Metrakos was promoted to the executive ranks in 1993 as Vice-President,
Business Systems, Treasury Operations. She was promoted to Senior Vice-President,
Solutions & Applications (S&A), Treasury, Payments and Securities
in 1996 and became Executive Managing Director, S&A, Wholesale, Wealth
and Risk Management in 2000. In 2003, Ms. Metrakos took on the new title
of Senior
Vice-President, S&A, Wholesale, Wealth, Risk Management and Enterprise
Infrastructure. In November 2004, she was appointed to the position of
Senior
Vice-President,
Operations and in February 2008, Ms. Metrakos was promoted to Executive
Vice-President, Operations. In May 2009, she was appointed Executive
Vice-President,
Technology
Development & Enterprise Infrastructure.
