Michael R.P. Rayfield

Michael Rayfield is Vice-Chair, Investment and Corporate Banking, BMO Capital Markets, where he is responsible for corporate relationships in Canada, the United States, Europe, China and India. His appointment as Vice-Chair in November 2001 was recognition of the bank's commitment to strengthen and deepen its corporate coverage. Mr. Rayfield sits on the BMO Capital Markets Canadian Management Committee.

Mr. Rayfield joined Bank of Montreal in 1982 as Senior Vice-President and Division Executive, Corporate and Government Banking. He was appointed Executive Vice-President in 1986.

Mr. Rayfield is a graduate of the Institute of Bankers, U.K.; the Senior Management Program at Harvard University; Advanced Executive Program J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University; has studied at Cambridge University and is a graduate of the Directors Education Program at the Rotman’s School of Management.

Mr. Rayfield is on the Board of Governors of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and is a director of Canadian Utilities, a public corporation. He is a past director of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, National Gallery of Canada, Canadian Institute for International Affairs (CIIA), and Canadian-American Business Council. Mr. Rayfield is also a former cabinet chairman of the United Way, and Past President of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
