Technology and Operations manages, maintains and provides governance over information technology, operations services and real estate and sourcing for BMO Financial Group. It focuses on enterprise-wide priorities that improve service quality and efficiency to deliver an excellent customer experience. Mr. Gilmour has been in the information systems business for more than 37 years. He joined BMO in 1978 and held a position responsible for enterprise-wide computer applications systems support followed by another position responsible for the development of BMO Bank of Montreal’s Online Banking and MasterCard systems. In 1982, Mr. Gilmour was appointed Vice-President, Operations and Services, and in 1985, he was promoted to Senior Vice-President, Operations and Services. Subsequent positions included Senior Vice-President, Systems Operations and Senior Vice-President, Applications Planning and Development. In May 1996, he was promoted to Executive Vice-President, Systems, Technology and Solutions, where he was responsible for the development of all solutions and applications, as well as the operation of computer systems and communications networks across BMO Financial Group. He assumed the role of Deputy Group Head and Chief Operating Officer in 2000. In November 2006, Mr. Gilmour was promoted to Group Head, Technology and Operations. Mr. Gilmour holds a bachelor of commerce degree from Sir George Williams University (now Concordia University). (July 2009) |
