Russel C. Robertson joined BMO as interim Chief Financial Officer, BMO Financial Group in March 2008, and was appointed Chief Financial Officer, BMO Financial Group in August 2009. Mr. Robertson came to BMO from Deloitte and Touche LLP in Toronto where he served as Vice-Chairman since 2002 and was also Lead Client Service Partner for BMO Financial Group. Mr. Robertson began his career in 1969 with Arthur Andersen LLP in Toronto and held a number of increasingly senior roles in that company including Canadian Managing Partner from 1994 until 2002 when Arthur Andersen Canada merged with Deloitte. He is an experienced audit partner with extensive financial services experience.
Mr. Robertson is a graduate of the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario (Honours BA) and is a chartered accountant (FCA).
Over the years, Mr. Robertson has been involved with a variety of educational, community and arts organizations including Shulich School of Business, Junior Achievement, the National Ballet of Canada and Royal St. Georges College.
