BMO Financial Group Distinguished as an Energy-Efficiency Trailblazer

May 2, 2008 - BMO was awarded the Uptime Institute 2008 Green Enterprise IT Award for IT Hardware Asset Utilization. The award recognizes the success of a cross-business team from the bank’s Technology and Operations division in reducing power consumption and improving energy efficiency in the data centre. Specifically, the team managed to save a total of 526 kilowatts of power through the elimination of 409 servers, 40 peripheral devices and two storage subsystems.

BMO Mutual Funds wins DALBAR Service Award

January 2008 - For the second year in a row, BMO Mutual Funds has proved that its service is second to none. The team earned the 2007 Mutual Funds Service Award presented by DALBAR, a leading financial services firm. The award recognizes the BMO Investment Centre for providing the best overall service to investors last year in both English and French.

BMO’s 2006 Annual Report honoured with Award of Excellence

December 5, 2007 - The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) presented BMO Financial Group with the Award of Excellence in Financial Reporting. The Award recognizes BMO’s 2006 Annual Report, which took top honours among more than 80 annual reports from companies across Canada. In recognizing our Annual Report, the judges said, “This report is a pleasure to read and a model to follow.”

Three BMO executives named to Canada’s Most Powerful Women list; Four inducted to Hall of Fame

November 21, 2007 - The Women’s Executive Network 2007 Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada included BMO’s Joan Dea, Sandra Hanington and Wendy Millar. BMO’s Dr. Sherry Cooper, Karen Maidment, Rose Patten and BMO Director Dr. Martha Piper were also honoured and inducted into the Top 100 Hall of Fame.

November 19, 2007 - BMO Financial Group collected two Global Six Sigma awards at a gala presentation in Las Vegas. BMO took home: Best Achievement of Integrating Lean and Six Sigma; and Best Achievement of Six Sigma in Financial Services. The Global Six Sigma Awards recognize companies from around the world for outstanding organizational achievements through the application of Six Sigma methodologies.

November 16, 2007 - BMO's Customer Connect has taken the Gold Award in the Customer Centricity category at the Canadian Information Productivity (CIPA) Awards. The CIPA is Canada's oldest and largest Information Technology awards program. BMO beat out 90 finalists and more than 170 entries.

Octrober 2007 - BMO Financial Group has ranked 2nd in the “2007 Canada’s Most Trusted Companies for Privacy Study”. The study, conducted by the Ponemon Institute and sponsored by Carlson Marketing Group of Canada, measures public perception of both Canadian and global companies’ privacy and security practices. This is the second consecutive year that BMO ranked in the Top 5 and ahead of all other financial institutions included in the study.

Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (North America) and FTSE4Good Series Index recognize BMO's environmental efforts

August 2007 - BMO has achieved standing on both the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (North America) and FTSE4Good Series Index, for its environmental efforts. This is the second and third year, respectively, that BMO has been recognized. The indices measure the performance of companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards including environmental practices. BMO is also implementing both short and longer term initiative aimed at reducing our footprint on the environment.

February 20, 2007 - BMO has been recognized as having one of the Top 5 Investor Relations Websites in North America for the past three years and continues to be recognized in 2007. Along with this award, BMO was recognized with two additional awards; Top 5 in North America for Best Financial Disclosure Procedures and Best Online Annual Report in North America.
Investor Relations Global Rankings (IRGR) rates Investor Relations websites, Corporate Governance and Earnings Release & Disclosure Procedures. In 2006, there were 145 participants in 31 countries. Through transparent ratings and independent auditors, IR Global Rankings is the most comprehensive ranking system since its founding nine years ago.

February 2, 2007 - For the third straight year, Bank of Montreal has received the interactive Investor Relations Awards (iIR) for the Outstanding IR Site in the banking industry from the Web Marketing Association. This award demonstrates the Bank’s commitment to excellence in shareholder communication and full disclosure of financial information to the investment community.
The iIR Awards evaluate and recognize innovation and excellence in online investor relations as judged by investors, financial advisors as well as IR and Web professionals. This competition focuses on investor dedicated sections, with particular emphasis on corporate reporting and disclosure, ease of use, creativity and functionality of the IR section of the corporate site.

January 2007 - BMO’s Information Management group, Technology and Operations, were recognized for best practices in metadata management, by the Data Management Association (DAMA).
