BMO Financial Group Receives Corporate Reporting Award

December 7, 2005 - BMO Financial Group received an Award of Excellence, in the Financial Services category for Corporate Reporting, at the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Corporate Reporting Awards luncheon today. This is the second year in a row that BMO has won this award.

Three BMO women named to Top 100

November 24, 2005 - BMO's Sherry Cooper, Karen Maidment and Rose Patten were named to the 2005 list of Canada's Most Powerful Women. The list, chosen annually by the Women's Executive Network, recognizes the 100 most exceptional and influential women in Canada.

BMO Financial Group wins Corporate Award of Excellence

November 17, 2005 - The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) named BMO Financial Group winner of its first ever Corporate Award of Excellence. The award was given in recognition of BMO’s enterprise-wide diversity program and success at linking diversity strategy with business objectives and individual performance.

Rose Patten named to HR Executive Honor Roll

October 18, 2005 - Rose Patten, Senior Executive Vice-President, Human Resources was named to Human Resource Executive’s 2005 HR Honor Roll. The magazine evaluated candidates from large companies across North America, on their ability to successfully handle significant problems and overcome obstacles; the role they played in establishing the human resource function as an integral and strategic part of their organization; their leadership skills; and their contributions to the human resources profession as a whole.

October 12, 2005 - Tony Comper was named Canadian International Executive of the Year by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Canada’s largest business association. Nancy Hughes Anthony, President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce said, "Mr. Comper was chosen because, under his exemplary leadership, BMO Financial Group has developed a strong, competitive Canadian presence in the United States and is strategically active in other global markets."

September 12, 2005 - BMO InvestorLine ranked #1 in The Globe and Mail's annual review of 12 online brokerage firms. The scores are based on 10 critieria including commissions, real-time account updates, transaction history and website navigation. BMO Investorline has topped the survey for four consecutive years.

BMO's Board ranks tops in survey

August 16, 2005 - BMO Financial Group's Board of Directors took top spot in Canadian Business Magazine's ranking of Canada's top boards. In its fifth annual survey, BMO ranked #1 along with Bank of Nova Scotia. Canadian Business reports that BMO was one of the first Canadian companies to put a comprehensive board evaluation system in place that determines how effective the board is and what each director’s contributions are. BMO was also praised for high standards of governance.

July 14, 2005 - Harrisdirect was named the top discount broker in Smart Money magazine’s 2005 rankings – a stellar improvement from last year’s fifth-place showing. Harrisdirect ranked ahead of well-known firms such as Ameritrade, Scottrade and optionsXpress.

May 4, 2005 – Finance et Investissement Magazine, the French-language equivalent of Investment Executive, named BMO Nesbitt Burns #1 in Investment Advisor satisfaction in Quebec. The firm ranked the best in 18 of the 24 criteria, earning its fourth consecutive top spot on the annual survey.

May 2, 2005 – Tony Comper was named 'Diversity Leader of the Year' at the Diversity Excellence Awards, hosted by the International Quality and Productivity Center. April 18, 2005 – BMO has ranked 171st overall in the Forbes Global 2000. The Global 2000, selected by Forbes magazine is a comprehensive listing of the world's biggest and most important companies, as measured by sales, profits, assets and market value. The list for 2005 includes companies from 46 countries.

March 4, 2005 – In the March 2005 issue, US Banker lists High Finance's 25 Most Influential People, characterizing Tony Comper – ranked 10th – as a "banker's banker." Mr. Comper is the only Canadian to make the list.

BMO Dividend Fund tops Maclean's list

February 7, 2005 – Maclean's magazine published a ranking of Canada's 20 biggest equity funds by assets, ranked by three-year performance, with the BMO Dividend Fund topping the chart. The fund was also profiled as "one of the best performing Canadian dividend funds for over a decade" in the Fund Library's 2005 RRSP Guide that was enclosed in The Globe and Mail recently.
