December 7, 2005 - BMO Financial Group received an Award of Excellence, in the Financial Services category for Corporate Reporting, at the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Corporate Reporting Awards luncheon today. This is the second year in a row that BMO has won this award.

November 24, 2005 - BMO's Sherry Cooper, Karen Maidment and Rose Patten were named to the 2005 list of Canada's Most Powerful Women. The list, chosen annually by the Women's Executive Network, recognizes the 100 most exceptional and influential women in Canada.

November 17, 2005 - The Canadian Race Relations Foundation (CRRF) named BMO Financial Group winner of its first ever Corporate Award of Excellence. The award was given in recognition of BMO’s enterprise-wide diversity program and success at linking diversity strategy with business objectives and individual performance.

October 18, 2005 - For the fourth consecutive year, BMO Financial Group was named one of Canada's top 100 employers by Macleans magazine. BMO was the only major Canadian bank named to this prestigious list.

October 18, 2005 - Rose Patten, Senior Executive Vice-President, Human Resources was named to Human Resource Executive’s 2005 HR Honor Roll. The magazine evaluated candidates from large companies across North America, on their ability to successfully handle significant problems and overcome obstacles; the role they played in establishing the human resource function as an integral and strategic part of their organization; their leadership skills; and their contributions to the human resources profession as a whole.

October 12, 2005 - Tony Comper was named Canadian International Executive of the Year by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Canada’s largest business association. Nancy Hughes Anthony, President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce said, "Mr. Comper was chosen because, under his exemplary leadership, BMO Financial Group has developed a strong, competitive Canadian presence in the United States and is strategically active in other global markets."

September 12, 2005 - BMO InvestorLine ranked #1 in The Globe and Mail's annual review of 12 online brokerage firms. The scores are based on 10 critieria including commissions, real-time account updates, transaction history and website navigation. BMO Investorline has topped the survey for four consecutive years.

August 16, 2005 - BMO Financial Group's Board of Directors took top spot in Canadian Business Magazine's ranking of Canada's top boards. In its fifth annual survey, BMO ranked #1 along with Bank of Nova Scotia. Canadian Business reports that BMO was one of the first Canadian companies to put a comprehensive board evaluation system in place that determines how effective the board is and what each director’s contributions are. BMO was also praised for high standards of governance.

July 14, 2005 - Harrisdirect was named the top discount broker in Smart Money magazine’s 2005 rankings – a stellar improvement from last year’s fifth-place showing. Harrisdirect ranked ahead of well-known firms such as Ameritrade, Scottrade and optionsXpress.

July 14, 2005 - BMO Nesbitt Burns has been ranked the top Equity Research Group for the 25th consecutive year, a record achievement as determined by Canada's leading institutional investors in the 2005 Brendan Wood International Survey.

June 1, 2005 – BMO was named Best Corporate Citizen 2005 by Corporate Knights, the magazine that focuses on corporate social responsibility. The top-50 ranking is based on thirteen performance indicators, including executive gender diversity, tax generation, executive retention rate, as well as board independence and diversity.

May 3, 2005 – In May 2005, members of the Equity Research Groups at BMO Nesbitt Burns and Harris Nesbitt were recognized by Forbes Magazine and The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) for excellence in Research. The analysts were recognized for their excellence in accurately forecasting earnings and/or recommending when to buy, hold or sell.

In the WSJ Best on the Street survey, BMO Nesbitt Burns' Tim Casey ranked #1 in the Broadcasting & Entertainment category. Colleagues, Edwin Chee, Jeffrey Logsdon, John D. Morris, and Peter Sklar all ranked in the top five in their fields.

May 2, 2005 – Tony Comper was named 'Diversity Leader of the Year' at the Diversity Excellence Awards, hosted by the International Quality and Productivity Center. IQPC recognized Mr. Comper's leadership in diversity and his vision for a diverse and equitable workplace. IQPC also awarded BMO its 'Best in Class Diversity Program Award.'

April 18, 2005 – BMO has ranked 171st overall in the Forbes Global 2000. The Global 2000, selected by Forbes magazine is a comprehensive listing of the world's biggest and most important companies, as measured by sales, profits, assets and market value. The list for 2005 includes companies from 46 countries.

March 15, 2005 – For the fourth consecutive year, BMO has been ranked amongst the best of North American companies with a superior focus on learning and development by Training magazine. BMO's ranking also marks our fourth consecutive year as the top Canadian bank on the list.

March 9, 2005 – Microsoft Corporation announced the winners of its ninth annual customer achievement awards, known as the Pinnacle Awards. Harrisdirect won top spot in Excellence in Financial Reporting and Budgeting.

March 4, 2005 – In the March 2005 issue, US Banker lists High Finance's 25 Most Influential People, characterizing Tony Comper – ranked 10th – as a "banker's banker." Mr. Comper is the only Canadian to make the list.

February 24, 2005 – IR magazine named BMO "Best Communications with the Retail Market." The award recognizes the quality and ease of navigation of the Investor Relations website as well as the presentation of information to the Retail Investor. According to IR magazine, "BMO has continually striven to focus on public knowledge and is service-driven. It always provides timely and accurate information for investors."

January 25, 2005 – BMO Financial Group ranked 7th on The Globe and Mail's list Top 25 of Canada's Most Respected Corporations, up from 9th in 2003 and 20th in 2002.

BMO was named #2 in the category of 'Corporate Governance' and #4 in the category of 'Corporate Social Responsibility', both increases from the previous two years. BMO also ranked among the top 10 corporations in the categories of Best Long-Term Investment Value, Human Resources Management, and Financial Performance.

January 11, 2005 – For the second year in a row, Euromoney Magazine, the premier European business magazine for the international financial community, has selected BMO Harris Private Banking as the best private bank in Canada.
