BMO Receives Two Corporate Reporting Awards

December 8, 2006 - For the third year in a row, BMO Financial Group received an Award of Excellence for Corporate Reporting in the Financial Services industry sector. The award was given by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ (CICA).
BMO received the highest average ranking scores in all categories: financial/annual reporting, electronic disclosure, corporate governance disclosure and sustainable development reporting.
BMO also won the Award of Excellence in Financial Reporting, which is presented to the best annual report among the 90 submissions judged, regardless of industry sector.

November 14, 2006 - BMO President and CEO Tony Comper accepted an award recognizing BMO’s corporate arts support program, which was deemed to have most effectively served the arts while meeting corporate objectives. The award was part of the 2006 Globe and Mail Business for the Arts Awards.

August 14, 2006 - BMO’s leadership in corporate reporting continues to be recognized with a top-ranking globally. In E.com’s 2006 Annual Report on Annual Reports, BMO’s AR ranked first in the Financial Sector. BMO also ranked second in the section entitled “Financial and performance reporting.” And in the category entitled “The long run: these outperform,” – a ranking of reports “that have topped the charts for more than one year and have stood the test of time,” BMO ranked fifth, the top Canadian company.

Karen Maidment named CFO of the Year

April 18, 2006 - Karen Maidment, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer was named Canada's CFO of the Year. Ms. Maidment was chosen by a panel of independent business leaders who evaluate candidates on a number of criteria, including strategic vision, leadership, corporate performance and social responsibility.

February 13, 2006 - The Globe and Mail reported that seven of the top 10 performing fund companies in 2005 were banks or bank-owned firms. BMO Investments was number 1, with 93.8 per cent of its funds in the first and second quartile of performance.

BMO Top FI in Privacy Poll

February 3, 2006 - In the "Most Trusted Companies for Privacy" in Canada study, BMO Financial Group finished fourth, ahead of all other financial institutions. The annual study, conducted by the Ponemon Institute, surveyed over 4,000 people, asking them to list the companies they saw as being the most trustworthy when it came to honouring their privacy commitments.

Harris Private Banking named Best Private Bank in Canada, third year running

January 10, 2006 - Euromoney Magazine ranked BMO Harris Private Banking the Best Private Bank in Canada for the third consecutive year in its annual ranking of global private banking firms. BMO Harris Private Banking placed first in 14 of 34 categories.
