BMO Financial Group Recognized for Outstanding Leadership by the Council for Business and the Arts in Canada

BMO Financial Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Tony Comper, last night accepted an award presented to his company for the corporate arts support program that was deemed to have most effectively served the arts while meeting corporate objectives.    The award was presented to BMO at a ceremony held last evening at the Art Gallery of Ontario, in Toronto as part of the 2006 Globe and Mail Business for the Arts Awards.

 

In accepting the award, Mr. Comper said, “We truly believe in providing the kind of sustained support that liberates Canada’s artists to concentrate on the advancement of the art form.”

 

BMO’s nominator, Necessary Angel Theatre Company, noted that BMO’s longstanding relationship with the Theatre Company “encourages us in our rigorous exploration of the theatrical arts and recognizes the artistic value of our endeavours.”

 

Since 1817, BMO Financial Group has believed in community reinvestment and corporate and social responsibility to the communities it serves.  BMO Financial Group is one of Canada’s top corporate donors.
