BMO Bank of Montreal, in cooperation with Groupe LSR, today announced that it is launching a new edition of the BMO Bank of Montreal Dream House philanthropic construction project. Following the success of the first edition, a second house valued at more than $950,000 will be built by Constructions De Royan in Laval in the Villas-sur-Rive development of Le Haut Ste-Dorothée Inc. and Cadiberge de Laval Inc., subsidiaries of Groupe LSR and the Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec.
The main partners of the BMO Dream House include the city of Laval, which is providing communication support and the equivalent of a five-year municipal tax holiday, and Gaz Métro. Designer Johanne Morency will once again be responsible for designing and decorating the house’s interior.
Some 330,000 tickets at $10 each are going on sale today, December 17, 2007. They can be purchased at all BMO Bank of Montreal branches in Quebec and from around 60 participating charitable organizations (see attached list). Other points of sale will be announced early in the New Year. The sale of tickets for the draw will continue through the end of September 2008, while the first in the series of draws will take place in April 2008.
“We are extremely enthusiastic about supporting this philanthropic project for a second year,” said François Hudon, Senior Vice-President, Quebec Division, BMO Bank of Montreal. “It will raise more than $1 million for non-profit organizations that work in various fields, most notably with sick and underprivileged children.” Mr. Hudon also encouraged non-profit organizations to take advantage of this opportunity to sell tickets for the BMO Dream House draw, as they are an attractive fundraising source, with 50 percent of the tickets’ total value being returned to the participating organization.
The house will be open for visits from June through September 2008. The final draw will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008.
