BMO Financial Group Corporate Responsibility Report and 2007 Public Accountability Statement Available

TORONTO, February 25, 2008

 Printer-friendly version

BMO Financial Group’s Corporate Responsibility Report and 2007 Public Accountability Statement is now available at www.bmo.com/community. The Report includes BMO’s 2007 Public Accountability Statement and provides information specific to the organization’s commitment to responsible and ethical corporate behaviour and to its wide-ranging support of the communities it serves.

BMO’s ongoing commitment is sustained by the relationships between its employees and its communities, and is evident through corporate donations and sponsorships that support a range of programmes, organizations and causes related to education, health, arts and culture, community development, sports and recreation, and the environment.

In 2007, BMO contributed $50.4 million in corporate donations, sponsorships and events, supporting communities and thousands of charities and not-for-profit organizations across Canada. With more than 32,000 full-time and part-time employees in Canada, BMO is one of Canada’s largest employers. In 2007, the company’s overall tax-contribution was $882 million and the organization spent $1.8 billion buying goods and services in Canada from large and small suppliers. To read more about BMO’s corporate citizenship activities, please visit www.bmo.com/community.

Printed copies of this Corporate Responsibility Report and 2007 Public Accountability Statement will be available in April in all BMO Bank of Montreal branches.
