CALGARY,
April 27, 2009 – BMO Bank of Montreal today opened
a green branch located at 9608 Macleod Trail SE in the well-established
Acadia neighbourhood of Calgary.
The environmentally-friendly
branch is the first branch in Alberta that will be LEED (Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design) certified,
a well-recognized standard managed by the Canadian Green Building Council.
Also, the branch will receive its electricity from Bullfrog Power, which
provides homes and businesses with electricity generated from clean,
renewable sources like wind power and low-impact hydro.
“We are proud to be the first LEED branch in Alberta that exceeds
typical standards in five categories: use of a sustainable site, water
efficiency, energy and atmosphere, indoor environment and materials and
resources,” said Don Powell, Branch Manager, BMO Bank of Montreal.
The branch is home
to a team of 21 personal banking and investment professionals who are
ready to provide a great customer experience. The team includes a
BMO Nesbitt Burns Investment Advisor, a financial planner, and a mortgage
specialist.
“BMO recently led the way in reducing mortgage rates, and now offers
a special 5-year fixed rate of 3.95 per cent,” said David Sprague,
Vice-President, Calgary District, BMO Bank of Montreal. “This
is a great time for first-time homebuyers to come in and talk to us.
We can help remove the complexity that comes with purchasing a home
and encourage our customers to ask for the BMO First Home Essentials
kit designed to guide homebuyers.”
For added convenience, the
new Macleod Trail & 94th branch features
three ABMs for everyday financial transactions, and a drive-thru ABM,
as well as ample free parking.
The branch’s hours of
operation are:
Monday to Wednesday 9:30am to 4:30pm
Thursday & Friday 9:30am to 6:00pm
Saturday 9:30am to 4:30pm
“Plus if you’re one of the millions of AIR MILES collectors in Canada,
we have another reason for you to bank with BMO,” said Mr. Sprague. “No
other bank can help you collect faster and redeem more quickly because
we are the only major financial institution that rewards debit and credit
card purchases, including online purchases, with access to a comprehensive
choice of more than 800 reward and travel options.”
The Macleod Trail & 94th branch replaces the Southcentre Branch,
located at 31 – 100 Anderson Road SE, which closed on April 24th.
